Updates for 2022-2023

We are into 2023 now, and the HaHa Nokomis experienced a number of updates and changes in 2022 heading into this new year. These changes included a slight change in name from HaHa Nokomis Waterfront Resort, Tiki Bar, and Wildlife Preserve to the HaHa Nokomis Waterfront Resort, Sunset Bar, and Wildlife Preserve. Sunset Bar better reflects our amenities than Tiki Bar ever did.

But the big changes included the following:

  • The creation and bottling of our very own signature wine, the 2022 HaHa Nokomis Winery Inaugural Reserve Pinot Noir. Come try it at our Sunset Bar.
  • The completion of our very own caged travertine pool deck area with full-width custom heated pool, sunshelf, and spa!
  • The sad passing of our beloved senior Lion Dog (Shih Tzu) Kung Fu Katie in May 2022 after just shy of 16 years with us. Katie will be fondly remembered and missed forever.
  • And the joyful addition of our new little Havanese puppy, Rocketship Rosie, or just Rosie… who is quite the rambunctious rascal!

HaHa Fairfax is changing…! We’re now HaHaNokomis.com

There are big changes happening at this site, formerly known as HaHaFairfax.com. We are now HaHaNokomis.com reflecting our new location and our new lifestyle focus. We have moved from Fairfax, Virginia, to Nokomis, Florida, only 9 short minutes from the beautiful and peaceful Nokomis Beach!

Our full name will now be the:

HaHa Nokomis Waterfront Resort, Tiki Bar, and Wildlife Preserve.

Stay tuned for more info on our facilities and how you can visit us for a wonderful Southwest Florida Beach visit or vacation!

Update: Summer 2015

Just a quick post to note that we are still here at the fabulous HaHa Fairfax!  One of our rooms is now “booked” on a more or less permanent basis for the next few months.  But there’s still room for visitors in at least one or two other rooms.

And, on a sad note, our “Wildlife” is down to just our dynamic Kung Fu Katie.  Our darling Darci passed away suddenly at the beginning of March.  Katie missed her terribly for a couple months, but seems to be getting back to a new normal.  And we, the humans, miss Darci tremendously still as well.

But Katie still loves visitors!  And dragons! 😉

“Holiday Inn”

If the name weren’t already taken, perhaps we should have called our little hostel the “Holiday Inn”, after the Bing Crosby movie of the same name (and the original source of the song “White Christmas”). Why? Because in our first two years of operation, it seems like our guests come mostly on Holiday weekends. Last year we entertained guests over Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. And this year, we’ve seen guests on Columbus Day and Veteran’s Day weekends, with Thanksgiving Day weekend already booked!
